Dr. El Khoudary’s research focuses on cardiovascular disease (CHD) in midlife women. She has a long-standing interest in understanding how menopause may contribute to women’s risk of cardiovascular disease. Her research has evaluated changes in endogenous sex hormones during the menopausal transition and subclinical measures of vascular disease, as well as ectopic cardiovascular fat as a novel risk marker of CHD in postmenopausal women.
